How will you make an impact?

The Supplier Sustainability Program Manager will be part of the global sustainability team focused on the company’s global effort to make a positive impact on people and the planet by improving practices in our supply chain. This role will report to the Director, Global Sustainability Supply Chain and will work on the supplier engagement model ensuring robust supply chain due diligence and decarbonization – ultimately demonstrating performance improvements in the areas of labor and human rights, environment, ethics, and responsible sub-tier management.

What will you do?

Under the mentorship of the Sustainability Program lead, help to develop and drive programs and projects to identify and address human rights and environmental issues in the supply chain
Implement existing supplier engagement programs/projects to conduct due diligence
Communicate directly with suppliers on key tasks and expectations as needed, with a polished and professional engagement style
Manage all remediation actions required by suppliers to meet Thermo Fisher expectations
Report actions and outcomes to Global Sustainability, Global Procurement, and Asia Sourcing group on a recurring basis, measuring KPIs and escalating issues as required
Support external reporting as assigned, providing key metrics and outcomes to CSR reporting and regulatory filings
Work with tangential supplier excellence programs including supplier risk, supplier quality, and regulatory supplier transparency initiatives where appropriate
Assist in the development and delivery of training on relevant programs to procurement, supply chain and operations staff
Analyze, synthesize, and present insights from internal and external data aiding in the communication of program objectives
Track outstanding data issues to ensure accurate and timely program execution
Interfaces with key procurement contacts to share progress, develop dashboards, and escalate issues as needed
Supports and coordinates third party supplier audits on human practices as needed
Regional point of contact for scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions questions and engagement with suppliers in support of Thermo Fisher’s Net Zero goals

Technical Responsibilities

Tracks and monitors timely completion of projects within the portfolio, plan vs. actual and report that progress as required
Contributes updates to overall project plans, tracking key milestones, and timelines
Detects, calls out and facilitates issue resolution and address program risk
Identifies opportunities to drive continuous improvement
English and Mandarin language proficiency

How will you get here?

Bachelors degree required. Engineering, Business, Analytics, or Environmental Sciences preferred
7-10 years or relevant work experience. Data analytics and program management experience preferred
Background in life sciences, bioTech, pharma, manufacturing industry, and/or sustainability consulting preferred
Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of human rights and environmental programs
Previous experience auditing suppliers for human rights and environmental impacts preferred
Well-developed analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with an ability to tailor data-heavy messages to specific audiences in a global work environment
Proven experience in a role requiring high-attention to detail, data analysis, and organization skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to efficiently coordinate communication with team members
Demonstrated ability to deliver assigned projects, with exemplary capability to follow-up and follow-through
Ability to work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams
Multi-tasking skills and planning for prioritizing personal workload
Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint required, PowerBI preferred
